Read an article the other day where some psychologists who are experts in body language assessed the various candidates for president in 2008. It did not surprise me a bit to find out that Mike Huckabee was found to be the candidate who was the most comfortable and seemed to have the least to hide by his body language.
I think we all could have figured that out. We all know that the less you have to hide, the more comfortable your body language will be. Try to tell a lie without fidgeting, darting your eyes, shifting uncomfortably, or biting your lower lip… not easy to do. Even our best and most unashamed lying president in the modern era (do I have to tell you who that is?) was pretty obvious when he told us that he… did… not… have… sexual… relations… with… THAT… women…, and he was an expert serial liar. The easiest way to keep your body language pure is to tell the truth always.
The problem that Mike is having in the media is not that he’s hiding anything, it’s that he’s being upfront and honest about his views, his values, and his religion. In modern politics we are so used to people either hiding the fact that they are religious, acting like they are religious when they are not, or in this election, hiding what their religion really teaches and believes. So, it’s surprising and refreshing to see a candidate like Mike Huckabee who is upfront and unashamed to admit that he is a Christian and that his Christianity guides his decisions, not the poll numbers, the state that he is from, or whether or not he is running for office.
Sorry to be so political lately, but it’s exciting to finally find someone in this race who I can believe in… and the body language experts agree!

Huckabee is looking pretty good right now.
