A Voice in the Wilderness

Did my civic duty today and voted in the Kentucky primary. Yes, I know, it was largely a waste of time as far as the presidential race was concerned, but it always is in Kentucky with the ridiculously late May primary. At this point even the Democratic race seems locked up. I went ahead and voted for Huckabee; who knows, maybe seeing that one vote in horse country will inspire him to get back in the race, running from the back of the pack to show like Denis of Cork did in the Kentucky Derby. There were some other people running, so it wasn’t a complete waste of time and to be honest, I vote in every election I can. There’s just something of cherishing the freedom to vote that gets me out to vote even if it’s just a run-off for dog catcher.
My office is a polling place today so I get to watch people coming and going to vote. I’m loving the pain expressions on the Democrats who are voting today (about 90% of the people voting here, I would guess). In this conservative, God-fearing, traditional precinct it’s deliciously fun to watch them coming in trying to choose between “darned if you do” and “darned if you don’t”.
November should be fun.

Good for you! I too got out and voted. And my reason is because so many men and women gave their lives for me to have the freedom to get out and vote and have my say. And yes, those that know me, know I always have some thing to say!!!!
I voted also before our W.V. primary …. Would not miss voting .Its a great honor to vote and to to be able to gripe and grumble … I saw a cousin there that i had not seen in a long time ,Jake the two year old was with me he stood under me as i voted …. I was in Oklahoma at the Kiamichi Christian Church, Church of Christ clinic so i voted early…. I see all the more folks that take the time to vote then i know why this Great Land is going down the drain….
